Add a new firm for analysis in MoreThanDigital Insights

If you need to add a new company to your MoreThanDigital Insights account, whether during account setup or later, this guide walks you through the process. The setup flow is straightforward and ensures proper roles, company data, and ownership are assigned.


1. When to Add a New Company

You can add a company in two scenarios:

  • During the account setup process: When creating a new MoreThanDigital Insights account, the company setup screen is part of the onboarding flow.

  • From the Company List page: After account creation, navigate to the company selector, view all companies, and select "Add new company."

The onboarding process for both scenarios is identical.


2. Step-by-Step Guide to Adding a New Company

Step 1: Add a Main Contact Number

  • Why it’s important:

    • The main contact number is used for verification purposes, to resolve issues like unusual behavior, or in case the account gets restricted or blocked.

    • Ensure this number belongs to someone who can verify the company information (e.g., internal managers, business owners, or your own number if setting it up for your company).

Step 2: Choose Your Role

  • Roles Available:

    • Owner / Manager / Employee:

      • Select this role if you are an official representative of the company, such as a business owner, manager, or employee, with the right to process company data.

    • Consultant:

      • Select this role if you’re setting up the account as an external advisor.

      • Consultants cannot take ownership of company data but must assign an official owner during setup.

  • Assigning Owners (for Consultants):

    • If you select the "Consultant" role, you’ll need to invite an official owner to the system.

    • Fill out their name, surname, and email address, then click "Add Owner" to assign them.

    • Multiple owners can be invited during this step.

Step 3: Add Basic Company Details

  • On the next screen, provide essential information about the company:

    • Company Name:

      • Select a verified name from the dropdown list (if available). These names are sourced from public records.

      • If the company name isn’t suggested, manually enter the official name.

    • Optional Logo Upload:

      • Upload the company’s logo to personalize the profile.

Step 4: Finalize the Setup

  • Review all entered details.

  • Confirm the information and click "Finish Setup" to add the company to your account.


3. Best Practices for Adding a Company

  • Use Accurate Information: Always provide the official name and verified contact details for the company.

  • Assign Relevant Owners: Ensure all owners invited during setup are authorized representatives of the company.

  • Consultant Setup: If you’re setting up a company as a consultant, ensure proper ownership is assigned to avoid data access issues later.


4. Switching Between Companies

After adding a company, use the Company Selector in the header to switch between entities or view the full list of companies you manage.
